What's on the Drawing Board

Hi there,

This eye will be part of a series I am beginning called "Body Language". Drawing something as delicate as the iris took a lot of time, I had to put down light layers and blend over and over again to give it that soft, moist realistic look. While drawing I began seeing an optical illusion, the pupil looked to be dilating, which in this case was very fitting.

15 x 20 inches (actual drawing is 13x7.5) - Nielsen Bainbridge Illustration board - 3b Mechanical Pencil - 3b, b, h graphite - plain tissue and blending stumps - 10 days

Trip to LI

We spent the weekend on LI getting Moms house ready to sell, met with the Remax agent and the house is now on the market. While visiting the Island we just had to stop down to the beach to catch a sunset, oh how I LOVE LI sunsets, snapped a few pics and liked this one.

Tranquility

It was the middle of fall with vibrant colors and the next morn we work to this tranquil scene in our backyard...

What's on the drawing board

This is my latest drawing, I spent 70+ hours on this 18 x 24 inch portrait of the beautiful Marilyn Monroe. I've drawn many of Marilyn over the past 15 years and will be keeping this one for my personal collection. I plan to post a large image to my other website soon.

Winter wonderland

It's been snowing off and on for a few days, it's so beautiful to walk in... Mother nature is such a master artist!

Nice to have a blog

A fun site and very easy to set up.....I added a few of my videos and my drawings and links and now I will head to bed. I hope to sleep well and wake refreshed and willing to work on a drawing for more then an hour (kinda lazy latly). Nite ~Linda
